CUV4X MB misreporting P3 speed

Hi,

Been running ASUS CUV4X motherboard with BIOS version 1009 (latest
non-Beta) and Pentium III 933 MHz for over two years w/o problem
until...

Recently, BIOS sometimes reports CPU speed as 433 MHZ.

When this happens, I power down the PC, disconnect AC cord, reconnect,
power back up, and BIOS reports OK as 933 MHZ.

Is this a precursor to something failing? Is there anything I should
be testing for?

When someting goes wrong (could even be CMOS battery failure) then it
generally boots up in the default speed, which is the lowest, 66 MHz bus
speed. And for a 933 MHz (7x133) this would be 466 MHz.
