That doesn't sound good.
I'm shooting from the hip here.
Try this.
System File Checker (sfc.exe) replaces screwed up system files.
Load your XP CD in your CD drive.
Start | Run | Type or paste: sfc /scannow | Click OK
If you have XP Home and it asks for your XP Pro CD, see this KB
article...
You may be prompted to insert a Windows XP Professional CD when you run
the
System File Checker tool in Windows XP Home Edition
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897128
If SFC.EXE did anything it will be in the Event Viewer.
Open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | Click OK |
Click System | Look at any Windows File Protection
entries
Explains a whole bunch about sfc.exe.
scannow sfc (sfc.exe)

clipbrd is clipbrd.exe and maybe sfc.exe will fix whatever is wrong with
clipbrd.exe.

It looks like this may be the source of the problem. I did what you
mentioned (ie., clearing the windoes clipboard), but the program
continues to run with flickers of highlithgts and coaasiaonal flicering
of the word "NO TEXT" I let it run on its own for more than an hour,
and
it is continuing. Is there a way to fix this?
By the way, thank you so much for your consistent support in this
matter.
I really appreciate it

Do you want to clear the contents of the Clipboard?
There are two different clipboards.
[[The Office Clipboard and the system Clipboard
The Office Clipboard is related to the system Clipboard in the
following ways:
* When you copy multiple items to the Office Clipboard, the last item
you copy is always copied to the system Clipboard.
* When you clear the Office Clipboard, the system Clipboard is also
cleared.
* When you use the Paste command, the Paste button, or the shortcut
keys (CTRL+V), you paste the contents of the system Clipboard, not
the Office Clipboard. ]]

No warning. But, when I cut or copy something and try to paste it, in
MS
Word I would see "no text" and when I try to paste something (like web
address in IE), I just see that it is pasting 2-3spaces of blank.
