Cutouts in DIS2006

I've been trying to get a cutout in a photo by selecting the object, then CTR
C, CTR N, CTR V.
All I get is a large, coarse grained, unsharp new image of the cutout,
there's no autofit of the canvas.
I need small, feathered cutouts tu use in my webpage, a kind of thumbnails
in an oval form.

Your steps are correct.

Maybe the image is not high enough
resolution to produce a non-pixelized
cutout.

And...the canvas only autofits width
and height...not the oval shape. (you'll
still see the white background...if you
drag the cutout onto another image
you will see the transparency.)

If you save the cutout in the .gif, .png
or .tif format you should be able to
see the transparency when you use
it in other apps.
