How to I set Clipboard settings on W2K clients? On some machines I can cut
and paste from a notepad file into a DOS terminal running OPENSSH to a Unix
vi session. But on other machines it does not work. HELP! Thank You!!!!!

If you mean "Command Prompt" when you say "DOS terminal"
(keeping in mind that there is no DOS under Win2000) then the
answer is simple:

- Click the icon in the top left hand corner of the Command Prompt.
- Click Edit
- Click Paste

Or, using the keyboard only:
- Alt+Space
- E
- P

Thanks Pegasus. Yes, I meant the command prompt. Your response is exactly
what I have been doing, but it does not work on all of our W2K client
machines, only some of them. I assume there must be some configuration
settings to make it work on those machines that it doesn't?

I have never seen any Windows PC (Win98/2000/XP) where this
did not work, provided that the Command Prompt was in windowed
rather than full screen mode. Since the Command Prompt is a
character-based process, you can paste character data only but
no graphics data. Next time it fails to work for you, try pasting
your data into notepad.exe - it's character-based too.

I seem to recall at least one virus that "broke" the cut and paste
facility, perhaps the OP has some infected machines?

make sure that the command prompt session, and the shortcut that spawned it,
have QuickEdit enabled.
