I use Corel Draw 10.0 (vector format) to draw pictures.
When I "cut" out a picture in Corel Draw and use "paste as
a corel object" in Power Point 97 - It don´t work.

Could anyone help me with this matter?

Leif,

Do you get any error messages, or what is the behaviour when it doesn't
work? Would paste special as a wmf or emf do? You could then ungroup the
result and get the vectors.

I recommend one of the following (since I never recommend "cut and paste"):

Choice 1: Save your Corel Drawing as a JPG or PNG (if available) in Corel
Draw, then switch to PowerPoint and click "Insert", "Picture", "From file".

Choice 2: Click "Insert", "Object", click the "Create from file" option and
browse to your Corel drawing and select it.

If you want to move pictures from DRAW to PowerPoint, you can export to
WMF/EMF from Draw itself and then import it into PowerPoint using the Insert
| Picture | From File... option.

Apparently, the new DRAW 12 that's being released next month directly
integrates with PowerPoint - there's a link from my blog.

The Corel Draw "recovery wizard" give the message:
application is unstable.

wmf works. I can ungroup the vectors. It works for most of
the objects (not for complex objects)

Thank you for your asnswere

Your suggestion works but in this case I must convert my
vector graphics into a bitmap picture and will not be able
to ungroup the picture in Power Point and cange single
objects.

If you need to do that, then you'll have to work within PowerPoint's
limitations as a drawing program, which means that if the drawing can't be done
in EMF/WMF, it can't be done in PPT.

If you're using special fill effects in Draw, I'd remove them.
Then move the drawing to PowerPoint (as WMF or EMF)
Ungroup it there, and assign fills in PowerPoint.

This will save a LOT of editing headaches. A simple fountain fill from Draw
will probably translate into hundreds of individually colored rectangles when
you ungroup it in PPT, for example. Much easier and more efficient to
fountain-fill the same object IN PowerPoint.
