Customizing "Select Names" in Outlook

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to customize the "Select Names" dialog box which
appears when you click To, CC, or BCC in Microsoft Outlook. I am
using Outlook 2002.

Specifically what we want to change is the contacts list. I
understand I can choose between display the list "First Name Last
Name" or Last Name, First Name", but that doesn't solve the problem we
have. Our problem is that we have multiple e-mail addresses for many
users so when we see the list, we have multiple choices. For example,
John Smith has three e-mail addresses. When we see the list it
appears as:

Smith, John
Smith, John
Smith, John

As you can see, there's no way to distinguish between the three e-mail
addresses. I understand I can scroll to the right and read the
display name, but that's clumsy and not what we want to do.

How can we alter this list to instead show the display name or some
other info that would help? Actually it would help if we could either
change the column order and show the display name first, or instead
make the "Select Names" bigger so we can make that pick list bigger
and see both the name and display name at the same time.

We're willing to do this with code or by purchasing an add-in. Anyone
have any ideas?

Thanks,

Rick

P.S. - I know we could edit the person's name to include more info,
but that's not a great solution...

No way to do this in Outlook 2002.
The problem wasn't addressed until Outlook 2003. All they did then is allow
you to resize the interface so you can see more easily which address is
which.

Thanks. You don't know of an add-in or if it's possible to create my
own form that would be as quick as "Select Names" is.

Your own form for the Address Book interface? I doubt it, but you can check
in a programming group to be sure.
