My PC has Office XP and when I try to customize Outlook
Today, it will save the settings correctly. If I go to
another folder or close Outlook and reopen it, the
Outllok Today is reset back to the original
configuration. How can I fix this problem.

Thanks

Ruben

Yes, it is Office XP that is having the problem. You can
change the Outlook today to show 2 columns but it will
default back to 3 columns.

I am having the same problem. I have Outlook 2002, and I want it to be my start up page but every time I save the changes, it resorts back to the inbox on start up.

Since the OP is speaking of Outlook 2002, this reference provides no help.

I believe I know what the issues is, it's a permissions issue. What
you'll need to do is have someone with administrative privs add you to
the local admins group on your computer. Then you should be able to
make that change AND it will stick - regular user level access will
allow you to make the change, but it doesn't save it.

Do you have to be added to the local admin group to make it work?
Probably not, but I haven't dug around to try to find what
SPECIFICALLY you need permissions on to make these changes stick,
being added to local admin just makes it easy. Once you've made the
change, let whomever added you to begin with know that you can be
removed from the local admin group.

I hope this helps! Please let me know :)
