customizing desktop

While changing my desk, I clicked the "web" tab as well and either by mistake
or foolishly I clicked button. Since then the home page of my ISP covers the
desk top. It is an annoyance. To remedy it, I tried to restore my settings to
previous date. I did this to the farthest back date which was 16th Dec. 06.
but every time I got the answer that it cannot be done and I am having to
live with it. Besides this it also made some changes such as fonts in the
windows, font colours etc.etc. I wonder if there is a remedy for it.

1.Remove all Active desktop items :
-Right click Desktop
-Properties
-Desktop tab
-'Customize desktop' button
-Web tab
-Uncheck all items
-Uncheck "Lock desktop Items" and click OK twice.

1. Open Control Panel, double-click Display.
2. Click the Desktop tab, and choose "Customize Desktop".
3. Select the "Web" tab
4. Delete all the items except "My current Home page"
5. Uncheck "My current Home page"
6. Click OK, and now select your Desktop background
7. Click OK and close the dialog.
