Ellen

I just upgraded to XP and changed the settings (colors,
fonts, etc) to suit my tastes (and my sub-par eyesight).
And, yes, I hit "apply" when I was done making the changes.

When I shut down the computer, however, despite the fact
it sends a message that it is "saving my settings" the
appearance is back to default classic the next time I boot
up.

How do I make this stop and get XP to respect :-) my
choices?

Step 1. After changing your settings, go to
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 54,(Save Settings on Exit)

Save the .REG File to a hard disk.
Double click the .REG File; answer yes to the "Registry Editor" prompt.
(To view a REG file in Notepad, right click on the file, then select Edit.)

Then logoff, logon.
