Customized toolbars wont save

My PC crashed a few days ago whilst I was checking
mymail. The customized toolbars I had in outlook have now
reverted back to the original default setting, and any
changes I make are not saved, and return to the default
state.

It also now seems to take noticeably longer for the
customise window to open approx 90 seconds.

I have uninstalled outlook and reinstalled - it made no
difference, which makes me think that the problem is
elsewhere in windows - I am running 2000, both windows and
office. I have searched the KB but again came up blank.
Outlook itself is running OK - no other problems, sending
or receivng, and all rules function as advertised.

I have switched mail support from I-Net only to corporate
and back it also made no difference.

All/any suggestions gratefully received.

Phil C.

Try renaming your outcmd.dat file to outcmd.old while Outlook is closed.
Outlook will rebuild the default toolbars the next time you open it. If
your changes to the toolbars "stick" after doing this, then you know it was
the outcmd.dat file causing the problem. Make sure to make a backup of the
new outcmd.dat file so you can restore it if you ever run into the same
problem again.

Note: Since you're using Windows 2000, you'll need to search in hidden and
system folders to find the outcmd.dat file.

Since you replied to my earlier post on the subject, does that mean you
tried what I suggested and it didn't work for you?
