I have PP 2007. When I make a footer, it puts the date on the left, text in
the center, and the page number on the right. I don't want that arrangement.

I want to have a customized footer that appears on every page with text (a
copyright) on the left, the page number in the center, and a presentation
reference on the right. I could do this in PP 2003. How do I do it with PP
2007?

Thanks, John. That works ... almost. I deleted the date section and added a
text placeholder, in which I typed some text. I moved the slide number
section to the center and moved the center default footer to the right and
entered some text there. Everything shows up fine on the Slide Master.
However, only the page number and the text for the added placeholder show up.
The text in the moved footer section doesn't show in the normal view of the
slides.

I tried entering text in the original footer section first before switching
its location with the pager number section, and also just entering text
replacing the date in the date section. It's all there on the Slide Master,
but now only the slide number shows in the normal view.

I followed the directions found in the Help menu on "Add one or more
placeholders to a content layout" but to no avail.

What should I do next?

I finally figured out how to make the footers I want, using both the Slide
Master and Insert>Header & Footer. I made myself some rather explicit notes
so I have an understandable reference when I do this again.
