I like to arrange my desktop icons in groups by function. I usually (in
earlier versions of Windows) would group some then leave some blank
space (like a blank column from top to bottom of the screen) between
groups then have another group. When I do this in XP Home, all is okay
fro a few days but inevitably on booting up the computer they will be
rearranged (haphazardly) with icons from groups mixed into icons with
other groups.
I have not found "Help" to be very illuminating. I first thought that
maybe "Lock web items on desktop" would "freeze" the positions but it
does not appear to help.
Is there a way to have the icons stay in a "custom" pattern (with open
space between some groups) on a reliable basis?
Thanks,
