Customising Windows Explorer in XP

I use Windows Explorer extensively to navigate around my
system/data files, using the command line switch /e to
force the output result to something more useable than
just pointing to My Documents......

Unfortunately, the default view automatically generates a
full size screen: which I then have to resize. Is there
any way to get Explorer to remember the previous view
settings ?
