Customising details columns for media files (folderviewmanager?)

I posted a question on the above subject some months ago and received a reply
and a pointer to download a vbs called folderviewmanager which did exactly
what I wanted, namely to allow me to set a whole collection of details
columns to the same setting in selected folders (as opposed to thewhole
system).

Can the original helper or anyone else point me to this script again as I
have foolishly lost it.

You may be thinking of
Folder View MasterII© Keith Miller

Part of the readme.txt
=================
FolderViewMaster v1.0
3/24/2005

This script allows the user to customize a folder view and then have that
view applied to all it's subfolders. It will prompt you to select a folder,
then pause while you set everything to your liking: folder type, icon style,
choose details, column order, column width, etc. Once you've completed
this, it will then briefly open and close each subfolder of the folder you
selected; this causes explorer to save the view for that folder. When it is
completed this process you will have the opportunity to select another
folder for processing. If a folder has already been processed it will not
be affected by processing its parent. This allows you to apply one view to
My Music and all its subfolders, another to My Pictures and all its
subfolders, and then apply more general view to My Documents that would
affect all subfolders except My Music and My Pictures. When selecting a
folder, you will also have the option to block selected subfolders of that
folder from being processed. This allows you the option of not "wasting"
saved views on seldom-viewed folders.

Thanks to David Candy, Kelly Theriot, and the folks at SysInternals for
RegMon.

Perhaps I shoudl leave it to Keith to reply as he has the copyright on the
script.

Although since Kelly is mentioned, you might find it at Kelly's Korner
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp.htm

If you hear nothing in a day or so, I'll post it here as I am sure Keith
intended it for general use

Hi Keith,

Thanks for responding. This is indeed a useful script. Thank you a lot for
re-appearing and presenting it for me. A web search for it found nothing,
despite it being (to my mind) a standard need for anyone running windows.

I wonder if Vista will include functionality that makes your brilliant
script un-needed? It provides functions that I would have thought were
utterly basic and sholuld be included in any operating environemnt like MS
Windows.

Hello Again :-)

I've written a couple of scripts for this.

The first will wipe out all saved views, up the limit for saved views, then allow you to define a
view for a folder an apply it to all its subfolders. The link is:

The second script preserves existing saved views and only modifies the folder(s) and subfolders you
select. That link is:

You're welcome. I don't know what's in store with Vista...
