To the group:

My sincerest apologies if this is not the correct group to post this question.
Outlook 2007
I have a user who needs to copy emails from their Inbox to various
subfolders. They need a method of marking the emails already copied. (They
use flags for other purposes so simply flagging the email is not an option -
unfortunately)
I tried to create a custom yes/no column field expecting a checkbox. Wrong.
Is it possible to create such a checkbox column field? And if not, any
suggestions for marking the emails would be greatly appreciated.

I am fairly literate in Access and Ecel VBA but have limited experience in
Outlook.
My most gracious thanks for any assistance.

John

Create a custom column how and where? If you just customize a view and add a
column to it the new column has to point to some field or other in each item
to show/have valid data. If the column isn't bound to any Outlook property
in the item it won't display a value or persist a value.

Thank you most kindly.
That makes a lot of sense and certainly explains why the yes/no field wasn't
my solution (and makes me wonder why I didn't recognize that myself).
I was doing just that - cutomize view/new column. (I have one that displays
the age of the email in days - not very hard to pull off.) I now have a much
better understanding of my options.
Again, my sincerest thanks.

John
