I would like to add some toolbar buttons to lauch different web sites and
programs to the standard toolbar in Internet Explorer using group policy. I
would like to have detailed instruction for doing so and I can only find some
general help. For instance
I would like to have a button that will launch "http://help" in a web
browser , I do not know how to create the icon files, where they have to be
located, the command line or script to launch this and if a script where si
this located? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi quizzy,

It took me a couple of weeks to come to grips with the complexities of
creating toolbar buttons. You can download a shareware product from

http://www.iecustomizer.com/IEButtonsDownload.htm (you get 20 startups,
plenty to create your own buttons)

At the bottom of this page you will find some button examples you can
download.

If you want to supply on-line help on your company network, I would suggest
that you use the IE Online Support menu

To do so create the following key

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Help_Menu_Urls

Enter the URL of your support form. You should be able to use autofill to
collect user details and external.menuarguments for the browser details.
