Good morning all,

I am not entirely sure if this is possible, but here is what I would
like to be able to do.

I would like to be able to add a custom button to my Internet Explorer
interface that will add the current page to my bookmarks folder, under
a particular path, "Random -> Sports -> Teams".

Anyone know of a way to do this, or could point me somewhere to figure
it out??

These sites may be helpful re adding or customizing IE's toolbar buttons:
http://camtech2000.net/Pages/IE_Buttons.htm
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/ctie.html

See this site for how IE's toolbar buttons are constructed and behave:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/browser/ext/overview/toolbar_style.asp

Here's a pretty easy method I haven't seen before:
http://www.windowsdevcenter.com/pub/a/windows/2005/04/26/ie_buttons.html

Now the hard part comes, and I'm sorry I don't know the rest - you'll need
to run a program or script to add the current/active IE windows URL to the
Favorites folder you want. You may want to ask this over in the scripting
newsgroups:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroup...rosoft.public.scripting.jscript&lang=en&cr=US

http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroup...osoft.public.scripting.vbscript&lang=en&cr=US

Or (just a suggestion - haven't tried this) point it to a macro recorder
program to start a pre-set automated sequence of mouse clicks to add the
site to your favorites. Something like one of the products here:

Here's a free one - http://members.ij.net/anthonymathews/MacroMaker.htm
