Custom task view disappears

I have created a custom task view and also changed some settings in one of the dafault tasks. Randomly when I move from the tasks folder to another folder (like mail) and back my custom setting disappear (the custom view and all other modifications) and the settings revert to their original state. After working for some time when I get back the views return to their custom state.
As I have said this is random behavior but happens about twice daily.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you create a new custom view or edit an existing view? (A new view is
best.)

I have done both. When the problem arises my new custom view disappears and the view that I have changed is reset to it's default setting. After some time both return - the new view reappears and the view which I changed goes back to my customized settings.

it sounds like the views are corrupt. Do you have many custom views? If not,
you can reset them using the /cleanviews switch - but if you made many
changes, it will delete them all and fixing this problem might not be worth
the effort.

Close outlook and at the start menu, run command, type
outlook /cleanviews
