What I need to do is create a splashscreen or popup that displays our
computer-use policies. I need it to be customizable (ie. a jpeg image
or html file) and not just the generic text that you can edit via the
registry. Any ideas/suggestions? Perhaps a .bat file that displays an
image for a number of seconds? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wes,

This reminds me of a related topic.

I think I raised this before but got an answer which meant I didn't need to
pursue this option.

The query is, what file will run automaticallly at startup ?

Is it autoexec.bat ?

Trevor,

Depends what file(s) are set to run at boot.

The only lines in autoexec.bat that Windows XP will read are the lines that
begin with SET or PATH. If ParseAutoexec is set to 1 in the registry, XP
ignores everything else in autoexec.bat.

I do not really understand the question.

unfortunately, all of those are just to edit the generic text or the
legal text box and text box caption. i need something that can show a
picture or perhaps html or larger fonts/colors/etc. the text will be
our company's mission statement that will appear (in a colorful and fun
font) for a few seconds after the user logs in and then it will
disappear. any ideas?

Wes,
Thanks for your answer.

My question is related to Mike's.

What file will run automatcially at startup? If this is known, then this
file can be set up to perform any extra logon action. Can't it ?
