I use "stations" in road construction. they are basically feet or meters
from the start of the job, but in the format of ##+##.## for feet (based on
hundreds) or ##+###.## for meters (based on kilometers).
Since I use them to do math, can anyone tell me how I can format them in a
form to include the plus, but still be a number?

any help is greatly appreciated

Sorry about the previous one, I clicked post accidentally.
You could do this by having 2 fields. One for the display with the plus sign
in and then on the After Update event, remove the plus sign in a hidden field
to be used in queries / calculations etc.
