Sometimes whenever I add a site to my Favorites menu, it comes with it's own
unique icon rather than the regular blue "e." This unique icon will stay on
there for a few days, but then it will suddenly go away and be replaced by
the default blue "e" icon. Why does it do this, and is there any way I can
keep it from happening?

They're called favicons and they're stored in Temporary Internet Files until
either they expire out or you clear TIF. Get:
FavOrg: http://www.gratilog.net/anglais/internet/favorg.zip

You can get a small utility called FavOrg by accessing line 108, right
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

FavOrg will check your links on line and retrieve any specialized
icons, as well as saving any that you may have applied.
