Custom Dictionary: Can more memory be allocated?

Hi

I maxed-out my custom dictionary. It won't take any more words. What's the
best thing to do in that case, apart from deleting some of the words in
it -- I've been doing that, but it's very tedious because there are few
errors and it would take a much longer time to properly purge it.

Thanks for any and all help.

Have you considered creating an additional custom dictionary? You can have
as many loaded as you like.

Which version of Word? If it's 2000 or later, please go to the
word.spelling.grammar group and post there. Mention the VERSION of Word, and
how you know the custom dic has "maxed out".

Doug Potter (MS) drops by there fairly regularly, and he
- says this shouldn't happen in 2000 and later
- is interested in tracking down why it might happen
- can probably help you get it working

Yes, thanks, I since tried that. I'm not doing something correctly, because
in new documents, words which used to be ignored by the Custom Dictionary
are being underlined again. I've got both old and new dictionaries
check-marked, and I thought that both would be consulted by Word during
spell-checking. So I'm doing something wrong, because the original
dictionary isn't being referred to.

Now I'm off to "word.spelling.grammar" to pursue it there.

Thanks for the reply and advice

Thanks, Cindy. I'll do that.
