Hello,

This is driving me nuts..I created a new contact form that
I saved to my local drive under Outlook. Basically I
added 3 fields to the form. I've used the directions from
MS called "Developing Custom Forms Using Microsoft Outlook
2002" I am actually using Outlook 2003 but it was the
closest thing we could find.

I've gone under the properties of the new Contact folder
and changed the "When Posting to this Folder, use:" the
new name of the contact form (Mailing List is the name of
the new form). If I import a new batch of contacts, it
does not use the new form. If I use the add a new contact
button, it will bring up the new form. However, I need to
imported contacts use that form. Plus I've tried to use
the form on established contact folders and it does not
convert the default form for me.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You Outlook import function doesn't enable you to import to custom forms or
any user-defined fields. You'll need to write you're own code to do that or
use a 3rd party product (such as ContactGenie - link below) or other
products you may find here: http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm

As for converting existing contacts - this may be of help to you:
http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm
(the upcoming ContactGenie 2.1 series will have an integrated message class
management function to address this issue along with a host of other new
features/improvements).
