Custom Animation - Hide on Next Mouse Click

I created lots of training PPTs using PowerPoint 97. Many of the builds use "Hide on Next Mouse Click.

Now we have changed to Office 2000. For some reason the "Hide on Next Mouse Click" no longer works. In 97 in worked perfectly. I have looked under all the rocks. What has happened
