PowerPoint XP 2002 (10.4205.4219) SP-2

I have put a custom action button on a slide to run an external program,
a countdown timer to be displayed on the screen - so my pupils know how
much time they have to complete the set task.

It all works BUT every time I click the custom button I get a warning
telling me that some programs may contain viruses etc. do I want to
proceed?. I click yes and the program runs OK.

Can I turn this warning off? if so how?

Thanks.

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for
(disable warnings of potentially harmful programs).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)

Thanks for the link but it tells me to do what I have already done, that
is to create a Run Program Action Setting and not a hyperlink

It was never a hyper link.

Possible I need to alter the security settings but as I will be running
it on the schools computer I'm not sure if I will have access to those
settings and considering the number of virus that are around I'm not
sure I want to alter the security settings anyway.

possibly I will just have to live with it or just accept that the
technology has let me down.
