Hi all,

I am scanning some family slides - almost exclusively Agfa consumer
slide film from the 70s. Someone has suggested this is CT-18 film, but
I don't know for sure, and short of unmounting the slides, I won't.

Aside from a substantial fading in the blue channel (or is it really
fading? the blue channel is very compressed on the histogram) does
anyone have any idea what sort of curves I should be applying to this
brand film? I don't have time to post-process every photo but I would
like to end up with a collection that looks a little better.

Thanks,

C

Digital ROC will help a lot. From your description, the slides are showing
fading.
If you don't have that, perhaps you can try the levels.

If they are Agfa slide mounts - dark blue one side with a white insert
on the other - it is very easy to unclip the white insert, examine the
film and replace the insert. You can usually do this many times over
before there is any risk of breaking the securing clips.
