Cursor problem

I don't know what I have done, but now when I click on an icon, the window
opens but in order to do anything with that window, the cursor HAS to be in
that window. Or, if I go to save a file, the save menu comes up, but the
cursor
has to be in that window in order to type a file name etc. If I get a pop
up menu in explorer - it has a shaded, grey boarder and I have to click twice
before I can do anything in that menu. Help! What have I done to have this
happen. Another
example - if I click on Start - as long as the cursor is inside the start
window I can click on any of the functions. If it goes outside the window,
it vanishes and I have to click on Start again.

You may have a mouse problem and need to reinstall it. (Cat go it!)
Disconnect the mouse and reboot PC, it will give an error that no
mouse is connected. Plug in the mouse and see what happens.
You can buy them on eBay for under $10

Go to Control Panel | Printers and other hardware | Mouse. On one of the
tabs there is probably an option for Xmouse. Uncheck that option.
