When I am in IE every 20 seconds my cursor will jump to the subject line. It
will also jump around in other programs. I have tried another keyboard, ran
virus protection, spyware protection? Any ideas??

Hi Broose :-)

You don't give us much information to go on, or the version of Windows you
are using. So, I will have to ask a couple of questions.

1. What version of WIndows are you using?
2. What program are you using when this happens?
3. Are you using a cordless mouse?
4. Have you tried switching to another mouse?
5. What are you doing when this happens? Typing? Scrolling? Nothing?
6. Are there any shortwave radio users in your area that you know of?

Also...you may have scumware on your system along the lines of the Netbus
Trojan
http://www.windowsecurity.com/pages/article.asp?id=453

Be aware, your Anti-Virus won't detect all types of warez, Trojans, worms,
etc. So even if you run it, and nothing shows up, it does not mean your
system is clean. It takes a series of programs run under the right
conditions to fully clean your machine. Also, some variants can continually
repliate themselves if not properly removed. Follow the steps here:

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:

and...

Download and install HiJackThis. This step is one of the most important.
Follow all instructions carefully. This prograrm should be run in Normal
mode.

something? 20 sec it will go to the top of the text or the subject line in
IE.
3. No cordless mouse but have not tried a new mouse.
4. Not yet but will today.
5. Just sitting not doing anything

Hi Broose :-)

Thank you for the updated information. Unless using a different mouse solves
the errant cursor mystery, then if you have any 3rd party toolbars installed
such as Google or Yahoo toolbar, disable them, or if you have Yahoo
Companion, uninstall it as it is known to cause various problems. Also, try
uninstalling and reinstalling any mouse software, as well as trying a
different mouse.

If these do not resolve the problem, then I suggest you do the steps to
clean your machine using the information I provided for you in my previous
reply, as it is likely that there is some form of warez (adware, spyware,
parasite, Trojan) on your machine that is causing this behavior, and it may
only be the beginning.

Hope this helps.

I was so happy to see this problem addressed - THANKS! Same exact problem,
except I have a laptop (also affecting Word). Will try all your suggestions,
but when I go to the "Hijack" website, what is the "log" you mentioned?
