Cursor freezing/mouse problems

For the last few days, my cursor has been freezing out of the blue and I can't get it to move again with my mouse without restarting my computer. I'm begining to get concerned because this is happening more and more frequently. Any help would be appreciated
 
Have you installed any new progams as of late? If so, you might want to
remove them and see if that helps.

It sounds more of like your PC is locking up, you might want to run a
spyware check just to see if that helps.
