Cursor doesn't select text correctly

When I am in a form and I try to edit the text, what is displayed is not
always correct. If I double click on a word it might highlight the last 2
letters and then several spaces after that. If I try to back space and enter
a different character, it might change a different letter. I.e., This is an
examplee sentence.
If I double click on examplee I would get plee se highlighted.
If I were to place the cursor after the extra e in example and press
backspace, it would delete the m instead.
This happens in several of my databases in the memo fields on a form, and
Also in other databases I use (did not create) in the memo field. I have
had these databases since 97 and converted to 2000. My users use 2000, 2002,
and 2003 and all have then same problem. The datqabase I did not create also
was a convert, but is in 2003 format.

Two things come to mind. Turn off Name Auto-Correct in Tools>Options General
tab. There is also a possibility a timer event somewhere is stiring the pot.
