I have several servers that I access through a Remote Desktop MMC console.
After 10-20 minutes of use, my cursor (mouse pointer) will disappear. If I
close the console and reopen it, my cursor is back until I lose it again.
This happens on any server I connect to, so I think it is my XP system (XP
Pro on a Sharp Actius laptop) rather than the servers. Any ideas?

Hi all-

I'm experiencing the exact same behavior on another PC now - a desktop
running XP Pro. After a few minutes, my cursor disappears when I'm over the
remote server screen. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a more
appropriate newgroup to post my question in?

I have the same problem using the remote desktops MMC snap-in in
windows XP sp1. The mouse pointer disappears when connecting to a
windows 2000 server and windows server 2003 and it's starting to
really bug me!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Does your cursor ever reappear if you wait a while?

This is a new issue (as far as I am aware)...

If it is in SP1 for Win2K3, it should be in Windows XP Service Pack 2
which should be available in a few months...

Only other thing I can think of is filing a support incident to see if
they have a patch available. They may charge for this, though...

I found that my cursor did not completely disappear, it became one pixe
across when it should have been the normal pointer, and was correctl
displayed when hovering over links, selecting text etc. I solved it b
going into the pointer settings in the mouse control panel on th
remote computer, and relecting a different pointer, applying and the
reverting back to the default one.

Hope this helps.
