When the curser is moved over an active button area of
the screen, it changes to a pointing hand. I would like
to rotate the hand curser 90 degrees so that it points
left or right as well as up, depending on the active area
chosen.

This will need to be done from the Operating System curors functions,
instead of from within Powerpoint. With almost any graphic software program
you should be able to rotate the cursor icon file 90 degrees and use this
instead.

Because it is OS dependent, the way to do this will vary from system to
system, and the effect will not be able to be transported from machine to
machine. Is this for presentation on your machine or distribution?
