having made my finished movie/soundtrack bonanza using
movie maker, i want to burn it onto a dvd to play on any
dvd player. the program that came with my computer is
sonix MyDVD which is verrrrry basic, and very frustrating
(for example, all the fancy backgrounds are all well and
good - but what about a basic b&w background for a clean
and simple look??) so i am feeling frustrated (as usual!)
by my lack of knowledge about what my options are.

are there any programs anyone on here could recommend?
or is there anyone familiar with the program i am using
who could offer advice (if there is any) on altering the
themes and placement of the menu buttons.

i am feeling lost and bleh.

The Sonic line is pretty well aligned with Movie Maker, so it might be well
to stay with their products... if it's features and not problems... consider
their higher-end DVD authoring and burning software.

Depends on how much you want to spend, something like Ulead dvd Workshop 2
is one of the best pakages around and will set you back approx £200, you can
design your own, change one of theirs or use the sdimple wizard technique.
It also has an excellent encoder and will allow ac-3 encoding of audio,
which is much more compatible and takes up less space.
They also do a cheaper version, but I've not used it. Have a look at uleads
web-site and download a trial version.
