CUPS Printing and MS Access 2003

Hello Group,

this is a truly weird Problem: My Access - Application (2000/ 2003)
won't open ANY report - neither preview nor design - when the system's
default printer is a Samba/ CUPS - Printer. If I change the Standard
printer to - say - Microsoft Office Document Image Writer or any
Windows-Printer, everything is fine. Users get a 3021 - no current
record; and this of course changes also as soon as I change the default
printer. And no,, it does not seem to be something with user rights, as
the domain admin user experiences the same.

Any hints?

Thanks,

Jan.

Jan,

I know Access gets some stuff from the print driver to format reports
(Default printer driver if no specific printer set). It must be the case that
whatever is required can not be got from your Samba/Cups printer driver.

There have been other posts from people more expert than me that outline
what is required - as all I know is that something is required .... ?

A search for cannot open reports / cannot print reports will probably find
some more comprehensive information.

HTH
