I cannot seem to turn off the funtion that flashes circles
to locate the cursor when the CTRL key is pressed. I used
to be able to turn it off, but now I cannot find how I did
that.

Didn't you ask a couple of days ago. If so someoone did tell you.

Start - Control Panel - Mouse - Pointer Options - Show Location Of Pointer When I Press Control
It was known as sonar till they shortened the name to "Show Location Of Pointer When I Press Control "

No, I've never used this board before...but I have already
tried that. However, there is no "Pointer Options" tab in
the Mouse section.

You waste your time listening to this guy (D. Candy). He is so full of it,
that if you don't begin to understand stuff or if you disagree with him, he
will start attacking you.

Just a warning to you

You don't mention the mouse vendor's name.

ON my Microsoft wireless mouse, this functionality controlled in Control
Panel -> Mouse, Tab: Pointer Options, bottom of the dialog box. Look
for similar on the software driving your mouse.

That feature is something I use all the time on my laptop. I'm always
losing track of the mouse pounter. Kudos to whomever thought of this as
a solution.

Lets remember who started abusing people first. Mmmmm, let me think, I know, it was you. Your abuse of others made me notice you. Should I post where you made a goose of yourself? Still want to continue with you can't rename open exe files?

I'm glad noone ate you for thanksgiving, saving you for christmas are they?

You were the one.... I got feed up with your shit, and abuse... and now I
slap you around like the MORON you are.

..... you love to post at alt.sex.childern, and alt.sex.animals when you not
being a ****ING MORON HERE? your a ****ING MORON who has to play games, and
when he gets hit back, he runs crying and saying the other person started
it. The little moron can't stand it when someone doesn't take his shit and
games.... boo hoo

I never made a goose (what ever that ****ing means... only a ****ing moron
would call someone else a goose) of myself... you on the other hand made an
ass of yourself... and are now being slapped for it.

NOW **** OFF

Okay, I have a Logitech Mouseman Cordless Optical. I
still cannot find how I turned it off before.

The user preference mask is a hexadecimal representation of bit values. To set use Windows Calculator and the values from the table below.

To use Windows Calculator take the value from UserPreferences and AND it with the value from the table below.

a.. Put the value from the table below into Calculator in Hex mode
b.. Press AND
c.. Take the value from from user preferences (in this sample 000000fd as it's byte order reversed).
d.. If it is set it will return the same value as the table below, if it's not set it will return 0

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"UserPreferencemask"=hex:fd,00,00,00

Sonar is hex 4000

PS I don't need any drivers for my wireless optical as it is just a PS/2 ordinary mouse to Windows. Perhaps you are the same. In which case you would have a standard mouse dialog rather than Logitech.
