I have a person who purchases a used computer with
windows 2000 on it and he updated to xp. In windows 2000
when the computer started it would come with a statement
at startup to hit ctl alt del to start windows and
something about this being a security feature. After
loading xp it still does this. Is this some seting in
the computer bios or is it some software this computer
has installed that is causing the problem. I am 1000
miles from this person and trying to help him over the
phone not easy to do.

Hi.

This is a feature that is built into windows XP and 2000 it is there for
security reasons but you can remove it from windows xp by changing the way
the user logs in. If you go into the control panel and open the User
accounts window there should be an option that says change the way the user
logs in.

Rudi.

Looking at your message header I thought you were trying to ask how to
get rid of Windows after it starts!
