CSS Text-Overflow doesn't appear to work properly if text contains

If this is the wrong place to post such a problem, please redirect me to the
correct place. I just can't seem to find a newsgroup specific to my issue.
To me this almost appears to be a bug in Internet Explorer.

I am using CSS Attribute Text-Overflow to limit the amount of text being
displayed for a list of ‘search results’. This works perfectly for normal
text, it always cuts it off at the exact place, and then shows … to the right
hand side. This works perfectly, EXCEPT, if the search text contains special
characters, it always breaks on the special character, and overflows to the
second line. To me this appears almost to be a bug in the processing of the
CSS Attribute. Any thoughts on this?

To see this in action, go to www.auctionshark.com.
Look down towards the bottom of the left hand side under 'Suggested Searches'.
Note that for ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Price’ it cuts the text off
exactly where it should. It shows the … exactly as it should. Then for some
crazy reason, it starts the next line with the –Blood Price. I’ve noticed
that this only happens if there is a special character in the search. If the
search string contains only text and numbers it seems to work fine. Why
would this fail for special characters?
