css drop list?

i had a question about making or creating a drop list for the main menu which
a sub category falls down right under the main menu categories. like this
website

the menu on the left side has categories which it has subcategories when
you place the cursor on a category a subcategory slides out to the right of
the menu i want to knoe how to do dat and how to make it come down instead of
right. i think its called css drop list

The first is vertical, with only one level of subcategory, but no doubt it
can be amended.
The second doesn't have a demo option (except "see the top of the page",
which I don't understand). I guess you just have to try it.
