July issue of Computer Shopper reviews the $499 AIW9800ProHDTV. In summery,
it said this card enables your PC to receive local HDTV on-air broadcasts in
high resolution. Unlike all other AIW cards, you need a compatible antenna
connected to this card. You also need a 5.1 surround sound card since HDTV
format used it.

And the AIW9800ProHDTV is not really a card but a package. It includes the
AIW9800Pro AGP card and the HDTV Wonder PCI card. So for people already
having an AIW card, you can update by buying the $100 HDTV Wonder PCI card.

Hope this information helps you guys who want to try HDTV on your PC.

Huh? How is that "unlike all other AIW cards"? If you're going to recieve
television you need a source of television signals, and that's either an
antenna or cable.

I doubt that you _need_ one, as long as you're willing to accept lower sound
quality. None of the other HD boards have that requirement.

It was supposed to ship in "spring". Well guess what, spring has come and
gone and it still hasn't shipped. Personally I'll believe it's going to
happen when I see one on the shelf at CrapUSA. Still vaporware as far as
I'm concerned.
