I just installed crysis on vista64 with sp1, rc1. Installed ok, but when i
attempt to run it i get a message: "Conflict with Emulation Software
detected."

I get the same message attempting to start in Directx 9 and Directx 10 modes

Has anyone else run into this or got any idea what emulation its on about?
I'm guessing its the vista64 32bit emulation??

I had to download this thing called safedisc, to get it to work. I cannot
remember where I got it from

Do you have a virtual optical drive installed on your PC. Something like
Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%? Because that is what is being referred to in
the error message you are seeing. The error is called from the copy
protection system used which checks for virtual optical drives.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I got rid of the so-called "emulation
software" now, a device (ezplay) installed by some cd burning software I
occasionly use. Now its down to jousting with my virus scanning software.

Between their use of this securedisc protection, and the apparently enforced
5 minute intro sequence that seems like it can't be skipped, one could
easily develop an acute dislike for the marketters of what otherwize looks
like a pretty amazing game.
