Crossfire in Vista: Anyone have it working?

I installed the Vista beta a while back but it wouldn't work with two
crossfire cards installed. Has there been a workaround yet? Possibly
remove a card, get it running and install latest Vista drivers, then
reinstall secondary card? I don't feel like removing a card just to
mess with the beta..

Thanks

You shouldn't have to remove a card. Vista should support multiple video
cards, just not in Crossfire mode. What happens when you boot up with two
cards connected via the Crossfire cable? Do you at least get an image
onscreen?

I imagine it would be up to the ATI drivers. Check the release notes for
the latest Vista drivers.

Computer boots just fine, gets to where I should be seeing the Vista
splash screen and goes black, then loses sync with the monitor (light
goes from green to yellow). It was a reported bug on the MS Vista
forum. It occurs even if I just run a plug from the primary card, I
was told I had to physically remove the secondary. Could be the
A8R32-MVP motherboard and the 3200 chipset plays a part in it..

Scott, the problem is (as far as drivers go) I have to get into the OS
to install them. I guess I may as well stop being lazy and just rip
out card #2 and see if the darn thing loads, then install the latest
drivers, then put it back in and try it!

That's interesting. Vista should be completely fine having two video cards.
I'm not familiar with how Crossfire is set up...is there a BIOS option to
disable it? If not I guess physically removing the second card is the only
way to go.

i think ati has crossfire working as reported by some sites...however i
dont think they made those drivers public yet :)

I'm going to pull card #2 out and see it I can get into Vista, if so I
will install all the latest Vista drivers and reinstall the card. If
it doesn't work at that point it's ta-ta until final release (that
definately works)..

Well, completely removed secondary card and it's gets as far as the
Vista Splash screen (just before going into the GUI) and reboots..

Screw it.

there are RC1 drivers on ati site up but still not crossfire
capable...however in release notes they say that they have fixed the
problem you were having :)
