Cross-refferencing between footnotes

While writing footnotes, I sometimes reffer in one footnote to another
footnote. If I add or delete a footnote above the one being reffered to, how
do I get the number of the reffered footnote to change automatically within
the reffering footnote? I tried hyperlinking, but I can't have the
hyperlinked text be the footnote number.

and note that while footnotes will update immediately as you insert a
new footnote, you will need to Update Fields to update the
cross-references (select all, hit F9 to update fields).
