Critical Update KB837009

I successfully installed this update on 07\12\04. I am still getting messages
daily asking me to install this update! Looking at the insallation history
I've successfully updated 5 times. Can anyone explain what's happening here.

After auto update
Had same when reg cleaning and removed the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Reporting\EventCache\WU]
"FlushCacheFiles"=hex(7):00
"CurrentCacheFile"="C:\\WINDOWS\\SoftwareDistribution\\EventCache\\{619A96D8-D4E9-40AC-A38C-64660090121B}.bin"

after re-installing the key AND file on HD no more re-installed.
Ran a manual update and problem removed.
Do not know why and how.
