I've already picked up two today + malicious software removal tool (XP/SP3) at the MS Update site. They both referred to remote attacks, so I assume they are the ones.

Gene

ggeze for 30minutes I could not get here nor any microsoft sites

well even though I put the fix on it is still showing for me to do the
update.
anyone else seeing this?
it is kb971633
so should I do it or not?
robin

I believe the one in question is Cumulative Security Update of ActiveX Kill
Bits (973346) not the 971633. I read it wrong
I am NOT seeing this one- 973346 only 971633
because this is in the video control and so is the fixit one at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972890
Vulnerability in Microsoft Video ActiveX control could allow remote code
execution

so sorry for the confusion

Robin, A couple of years ago I discovered a free program called BELARC
ADVISOR available at:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

I use it regularly and have had a lot of good luck keeping my machines up to
date with patches, fixes, and security updates.

See what you think as there is a ton of info that this will show you about
any machine you may be using, especially those security patches!

Robb

LOL !! Brilliant! There was a time I could do those things - in me dreams.
I`m still wearing the pampers :)

Stu

Engel - dear friend !!

Totally WD unrelated I know but ......

I`m getting the Sign In/Out link (top right) in IE8 - at last! Wonder if MS
has eventually done a number on this site OR what-
?

Bill G works in mysterious ways ;)
