Critical Error 101

OK, I've searched through all of the posts regarding critical error 101..blah
blah bal. I have tried many of the different ways to fix it and none seem to
work. I did notice that in my registry (Not that I know what I'm doing in
there) was missing the text after the LSI in one of the listed fixes. I think
after I got rid of SPY Axe, I may have deleted parts of the registry that I
thought were functions of SPY Axe though a registry fixer. The last time it
worked the Beta was deleting SPY Axe (supposedly) and the system was shut
down because I did a system restore - which also did not fix the Critical
error 101.

Any additional help is appreciated!

Thank you yes I did. I can't tell you hom many times I re-installed it and
ever "repaired" it from the add/change programs. My system restore will not
even work.

Bill, What 'registry fixer' did you use?Does it have a recovery or restore
function to put back any registry keys that were removed in error?

I used V-Com's fix it Utilities, it does not have an undo. Now that I'm
thinking of it though, wouldn't the fact that I deleated the program entirely
and re-installed it - reinstall the proper registry codes? In addition, I did
a couple of security upgrades just before It startedto give me the error. Not
sure what to do or what else to try.

Is it my understanding that MSAS will not load/run if the user does not have
administrative rights, i.e. a limited user?

Your earlier post said it is not just MSAS that is affected and your system
restore isnt working so the problem may go beyond the registry keys that MSAS
uses.If the problem is related to registry modifications you might need to
look at a 'repair install' or even a 're-install' but I cant really advise
you on that. You should speak to the support dept for your computer if it came
installed with the o/s or to MS help and support.

That's what I figured, but the installation set MSAS to run automatically at
logon/startup. When logging in as a non-administrative user, one gets a error
message box entitled with "Error" and only the message "Unexpected error;
quitting", with no indication of what encounter and error or what that error
is.

Ernie, Pesonally I would recommend changing the settings so MSAS only runs
when you tell it to from anadmin a/c.
