Criteria induced column coloring

Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to write a formula (macro?) to have a
column change colors automatically once certain criteria
are met? For example, if there were ten "options" across a
top row and five or more of those options were "checked"
that row would automatically change to a specifice color.
If it is possible, how would you do it?
