Hi,

I'm having problem with launching a program. Everytime I
try to launch it, an error message pops out.

CREATR50.exe has generate errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.

I've already tried un-installing the program (Roxio's Easy
CD Creator), then scanned for virus, and re-installing,
still no luck, same message pops out. I'd also tried
downloading an up-dated version of the program, then
installing, but still no luck, same old message pops out.

I'd even tried re-installing a fresh copy of Win 2000,
then re-installing the program. Still no go!!

Any suggestions?

Please email me at (e-mail address removed)

Thanks!!

Jenny

.

First question, have you ever had this package installed?
Second question, what does the error log report?

There is a possibility that some other software package is
killing this one or some device's driver doesnt like it.
Try running this program with the bare minimum running on
your box to see if that works.

Hi,

I did have the program installed before and it was working
fine for quite a while. Then somehow my PC encountered
some 'glitches'; my CD-ROM drive suddenly 'dropped out'
(literally) and Windows could no longer recognize it
(however, the system recognized it because it showed its
recognition at boot-up). So I tried a 'repair re-install'
of Windows...no luck. Then I did a fresh install of
Windows. After that time, Easy CD Creator never worked
again. Even when I tried installing another program Nero
Burning Rom...it runs, but with cripled functionality
(such as unable to do 'Disk Copy').

Regarding your advice of error log, I don't quite know
where I can find that error log?

Also, you suggested to "Try running this program with the
bare minimum running on your box to see if that works."
Could you please briefly describe how I can do that?

Is it like running at Safe Mode? (please don't laugh if
this sounds silly!!)

Jenny

I suggest you try "comp.publish.cdrom.software" news group.
The removal of both version 4.x and 5.x is rather involved, but
after a complete removal the reinstall should fix your problem.
You can get at the archives via google too....
