I had the creative program when i had windows 98, but now
that i have windows xp, it says that it is not
compatable, where can i get an update for creative
recorder?

or where can i get software that will let me save from a
microphone input?

Creative Recorder exists in a specific version for XP. Its part of the XP
driver package (50Mb !) that you can download from the Creative website.
