Creating templates with locked items

I'm creating a generic template for our organization for colleagues to use, with logo, etc. I would also like to control the type, the placement of text and such, so that all others have to do is type in their message -- is there a way to lock boxes on the master, or use form fields as in Word??

No, this is not available in PPT. There's no way to "lock" individual items.
