Creating System Recovery CDs

I bought a new Compaq Presario about four weeks ago and
am running XP Home. During the first or second week a
message flashed asking if I wanted to create System
Recovery CDs. I did't have enough CD-Rs to make the
backup CDs at that time so declined.

I have since purchased an adequate number of discs but
cannot find the program, that is supposed to be resident,
to allow me to make the System Recovery CDs.

Can someone explain how to access the program or explain
how to make System Recovery CDs?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

Ask Compaq, or look through whatever documentation came with your computer.
It's not a function of XP, it's something specific to Compaq.

.
Create a boot disk to guard against being unable to
start windows (MS Q314079)

1. Place a blank floppy in drive A, and format using
WinXP.
2. From the root folder of the system partition of your
HD, copy the following files to the floppy. (You may have
to remove the hidden, system, and read-only attributes
from the files and then afterwards restore the hidden or
system attributes.)

Boot.ini
NTLDR
Ntdetect.com

That is not the question that was asked. This is a Compaq
thing.

I also bought a new Compaq about 5 weeks ago and didn't make my recovery CDs
until about 2 weeks ago. Try, "start, all programs, pc recovery tools, and
Compaq Recovery CD/DVD creator". Thats where it in on my computer.
